Edi is what our organization is known as. It is registered as Ezisakwini Development Initiative (Edi), Ezisakwini is the name of the community where the project started, but since the project covers other areas besides Ezisakwini, the proposed name for amendment is Edi Training and Community Development. The proposed amendment has been forwarded to the Department of Social Development and the application is pending.
BACKGROUND ON THE INITIATIVE
Facilitating Empowerment Programs and Partnering with other Stakeholders towards Sustainable Community Development.
With the high level of children not attending school, unemployment, poverty, crime, sicknesses which HIV/AIDS is one of them, we decided to establish a community based organization aimed at making interventions through co-ordination and facilitation of development processes.
